How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 9-18 months in advance, especially for popular spring and fall dates in the Fredericksburg and Northern Virginia area. If you’re planning a shorter engagement, don’t worry, reach out and I’ll check availability.
How do we secure our wedding date?
Your date is officially reserved once the contract is signed and the 30% retainer is paid. Until then, dates remain open and may be booked by another couple.
How much coverage do we need?
Most weddings work best with 8–10 hours of coverage. This usually allows time to capture getting ready, first look or private vows, ceremony, family and couple portraits, and reception moments and dancing. If you're planning a full send-off or a longer reception, 10 hours typically provides the most relaxed timeline.
Do you use a second photographer?
Adding a second photographer is a very situational and wedding-dependent decision. Most weddings, from my experience, do not need a second photographer. If you have multiple locations, a tight timeline, or an exceptionally large wedding, a second may benefit you. We can discuss further if a second photographer is right for your wedding day.
Do you help with the wedding timeline?
Yes! Timeline planning assistance is included with every wedding collection. I help couples build a photography timeline that keeps the day relaxed and ensures there is enough time for portraits, family photos, and natural moments throughout the day.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely. I photograph weddings throughout Fredericksburg, Richmond, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC, and I’m always happy to travel for destination weddings as well. Travel fees may apply for weddings outside of this area.
How long do you keep our photos for?
Your final gallery is guaranteed to be active for at least 1 year. I haven't run out of space on my gallery site though, so they're on there for much longer. I also keep the final copies backed up on an external hard drive so on the off chance your computer crashes, I should have a backup!
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes! Many venues require each vendor to carry liability insurance - I'm happy to provide a Certificate of Insurance to your venue or planner upon request.
How long does it take to get our photos?
My goal is to have your wedding photos back to you as soon as possible, while maintaining the highest quality. Final galleries are delivered within 6 weeks of the wedding date. Your online gallery will have high resolution download access and the ability to order prints from a high quality lab directly from the shop.
Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes I do! I believe that wedding photos are meant to be printed, displayed, and enjoyed. My full day package includes a 38 page lay flat album. Additional albums can be ordered upon request. You can also print from a high quality lab directly from your gallery, giving you a much higher quality print than local convenience stores so your images last for generations.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! To reserve your wedding date, there is a 20% non-refundable retainer due upon signing the contract. The remaining balance can be split into payments that work best for you. The full balance is just due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.
Do you provide RAW files?
No, RAW files are not delivered. Every image in your gallery is carefully selected and edited to reflect the final style and quality of my work. Final gallery is delivered in JPEG format for easy use and printing.
